The government has reiterated its stance that the 10th National Games will be held as scheduled in February in Surkhet, Karnali Province.
Speaking during a meeting of the National Assembly’s Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee on Sunday, Minister for Youth and Sports, Tejulal Chaudhary assured that the event would proceed as planned, emphasizing the government's commitment to hosting it on time.
According to the state-run national news agency RSS, the minister reiterated the government's dedication to promoting sports and ensuring social security for the country’s athletes. In the meeting, Members of Parliament, including Padam Pariyar, Madan Kumari Shah, and Sumitra BC, stressed the importance of adhering to the pre-determined time and location for the games. They urged the Sports Minister to ensure no changes were made to the schedule or venue.
Suman Aryal, Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, highlighted the Ministry's efforts to integrate sports with education, culture, and other sectors. The 10th National Games, a significant event in Nepal's sporting calendar, aims to showcase the country’s athletic talent while fostering unity through sports.
